Course Description.

The Lean Six Sigma Logistics training is relevant to today’s logistics and supply chain practitioners because the training will delivers key drivers for all logistics processes including how to leverage value and eliminate wastes in the processes.

This Lean Six Sigma Logisticstraining is intended for logistics and supply chain professionalswho require a simple and powerful business process improvement tool for conducting continuous improvement process in Logistics as well as Supply Chain Management that will deliver clear and significant efficiency improvement. Companies are now embracing Lean Six Sigma initiatives to support cost reductions, quality improvements, safety improvements and provide continuous improvement activities in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

The Lean Six Sigma Logistics training will guide all participants to understand the elimination of wastes through disciplined efforts, to understand and reduce variation, while increasing speed and flow and improving safety in logistics and the supply chain.

Module 1 : Understanding Lean Six Sigma Logistics andRelated Waste The important of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Wastes in Inventory. Wastes in Transportation. Wastes in Warehouse Space and Facility. Wastes in Time. Wastes in Packaging.


Module 2 : Understanding Lean Six Sigma for Business Process Improvement in Logistics Processes. Work Process Foundation, Input Process Output (IPO) Diagram and Lean Six Sigma Principles & Objectives. 8 Types of Wastes / Non-Value Added Activities. Lean Six Sigma Methodology – Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control (DMAIC). Lean Six Sigma Project Organization and Examples with Clear Achievements. Developing List of Important Logistics Problems and SelectingMain Problem(s) for Troubleshooting/Improvementwith Lean Six Sigma.


Module 3 :Exercises in Lean Six Sigma Implementation for Logistics Work Process Improvement. Developing Input-Proses-Output (IPO) Diagram for Logistics Work Process from Selected Main Problem(s). Define Phase – Developing Project Organization and Project Charterfor Logistics Work Process from Selected Main Problem(s) and based on Input-Proses-Output (IPO) Diagram. Measure Phase – Developing Past Performance Diagrams and Current Process Flow Diagram(s)based on IPO Diagram. Analyse Phase – Eliminating Wastesfrom Current Work Process(es) andDeveloping New/Improved Process Flow Diagram(s). Improve Phase – Developing List of Improvement Actions andExecution of the Improvement Plan including SOP dan SLA Development. Control Phase – Execution of Controlled Improvement based onproven SOP and SLA for a certain period. DMAIC ProcessPresentationbyProject Improvement Team – 15 minuteseachTeam.

Course Level



Practical experiences in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management activities and/or supervision. Practical experiences in process improvement activities, implementation and/or supervision.

Trained and implemented Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) and Manufacturing Resource Planning System for Supply Chain Management at Gillette Indonesia factory. Experienced in Information Technology when working in oil & gas industries. Trained and experienced in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Facility Management and Talent Management when working in oil & gas industry. Trained and highly experienced in Lean Six Sigma and has been implementing in many companies. As Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and then Black Belt facilitator from 2012 up to now and has been implementing Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology for work process improvement projects from 12 work functions in oil & gas, insurance, education and logistics industries.
